Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann is set inside the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, led by Argentine chef Francis Mallmann, known for reviving Patagonian open-fire cooking. It's Mallmann's only restaurant in North America and centers on a custom-built fire kitchen, the first of its kind in an urban U.S. setting, combining a wood oven, a parrilla grill and a dedicated ash-cooking station.
Everything on the menu passes through fire: Argentine-style grilled meats like skirt steak, ribeye, lamb and chorizo, alongside live-fire seafood such as lobster, scallops and clams. The restaurant also runs a Sunday Parrillada, a curated grilled-meat spread served from noon to 4pm.
Chef Francis Mallmann's cookbook "Seven Fires: Grilling the Argentine Way" won a James Beard Foundation Award in the Photography category in 2010. Los Fuegos itself has been listed in the Michelin Guide Miami as a Plate/Recommended selection, not a starred restaurant.
Dress code is elegant chic, meaning no shorts, sandals or beachwear. Valet parking is available, reservations run through SevenRooms, and the dining room itself is a scene, with leopard-print booths, red cushioned seats and gold accents inside the Faena. Dinner runs 6:30-10:30pm Sunday through Thursday and until 11pm Friday and Saturday.
