Maxine's sits inside the Catalina Hotel & Beach Club, wrapped around a renovated courtyard pool with marble-top tables and patterned chairs outside and woven pendant lighting inside. It runs as an all-day American bistro, breakfast through dinner, built around burgers, pizza, seafood pasta, and Caesar salad, then turns into a live-music-and-DJ room after dark. The daytime pool bistro / nighttime entertainment-room split is what separates it from a standard hotel restaurant.
