Ghee Indian Kitchen was founded by chef Niven Patel, debuting in Dadeland in 2017 with a farm-to-table take on Western Indian cooking rooted in his own family farm. FEAL Hospitality, the group Patel runs with restaurateur Mohamed "Mo" Alkassar, opened a second Ghee in Wynwood at 119 NW 23rd St in December 2024 after a project years in the making.
The kitchen is built around ingredients from Patel's farm, with standout dishes like ghost pepper-cheddar seed naan, yellowfin tuna bhel with avocado, and Kerala lamb with tomato and coconut. The Wynwood location adds a full cocktail program with farm-to-glass drinks that lean on the same bold spices as the food.
Ghee has earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction in the Florida Michelin Guide every year from 2022 through 2026. Chef Niven Patel is a four-time James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: South, and co-founder Mohamed Alkassar was a 2023 James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur.
