The Story
Jeremy Ford, the Top Chef Season 13 winner, opened Stubborn Seed in 2017 in Miami Beach's South of Fifth neighborhood, partnering with Grove Bay Hospitality Group. The tasting-menu restaurant became his flagship after his national television win, built around a glass-fronted display kitchen and a brashly creative approach that blends Latin and Asian influences.
Known for
An ambitious tasting menu that leans on Ford's own five-acre organic farm in Redland for much of its produce, plus a sleek, industrial-chic dining room centered on an open kitchen. The restaurant has held a Michelin star every year since Florida's guide launched in 2022, and added a Michelin Green Star in 2025 for its sustainability practices, including farm sourcing and food-waste composting.
Recognition
Stubborn Seed has held one Michelin star every year of the Florida guide's existence (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) and earned a Michelin Green Star in 2025 for sustainability. Chef Jeremy Ford was a 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist.
