LT South Beach (formerly LT Steak & Seafood, and before that BLT Steak) is the resident restaurant of The Betsy Hotel, an Art Deco landmark at 1440 Ocean Drive in South Beach. The restaurant was born from a partnership between hotel owners Jonathan and Lesley Plutzik and Michelin-starred French chef Laurent Tourondel, which began when The Betsy opened in its current identity in 2009. The Plutziks had been inspired by Tourondel's New York restaurant on 57th Street and recruited him to oversee the hotel's food program. The concept evolved through several incarnations: BLT Steak at opening, then LT Steak & Seafood in 2016, and now LT South Beach, each iteration reflecting Tourondel's evolving culinary vision. In 2024, the restaurant celebrated its 15th anniversary of the Tourondel–Betsy partnership. Tourondel, a native of France's coast, draws on childhood experiences fishing and baking with his grandparents.
