The Story
David Grutman opened Komodo in 2015 in Brickell, turning a dormant ground-floor space into his flagship restaurant and the first concept under what is now Groot Hospitality. The three-story space set the template for Grutman's Miami hospitality empire, pairing Southeast Asian-inspired cooking with a high-energy, nightlife-adjacent design.
