Prime 112 opened January 2, 2004 inside the historic Browns Hotel on Ocean Drive, founded by Miami Beach restaurateur Myles Chefetz. It set out to reinvent the American steakhouse, trading the clubby dark-wood formula for a bright, high-energy dining room and a chef-driven menu, and is widely credited as one of the first modern steakhouses in the country.
