Papi Steak opened September 12, 2019 in Miami Beach's South of Fifth neighborhood, a partnership between Groot Hospitality's David Grutman and David "Papi" Einhorn. The concept grew out of a single dish: Einhorn's kosher-style steak with his own secret sauce became a bestseller at Grutman's Komodo before earning its own restaurant. In 2025 the 93-seat space closed for a Rockwell Group-led redesign and reopened November 13, 2025 with a "tropical luxe" look of velvet banquettes, gold accents and a crystal chandelier.
The signature is the Papi Steak, a Tomahawk cut finished with Einhorn's dairy-free secret sauce, alongside kosher-style dishes like latkes, Wagyu pastrami and chicken schnitzel, plus a theatrical Wagyu "Beef Case" tomahawk presentation. Expect a party atmosphere with DJs, a full bar and cocktail program, and a room built for celebration as much as steak.
Reservations run through Resy and go fast on weekends, this is as much a scene as a steakhouse. Dress code is upscale casual: no hats, tank tops, flip-flops, shorts or beachwear. Valet parking is available on site.
